Dharwad Ablaze...! Part 2

This is the Desai's lovely old step well at the University Cross. The handsome stone work against the brilliant backdrop of the Gulmohar...

Pretty reflections of the Gulmohar along with rushes and lily pads...

The handsome stone work of the step well against the brilliant backdrop of the Gulmohar...

These lovely Gulmohar boughs laden with swathes of brilliant blooms brush against the thick dirty gray waters of this permanent eye sore of an open drain on one of our most popular/most used roads...

On the University road at the Nirmal Nagar-Kalyan Nagar cross...

The Barakotri area...
Coming from Kalyan Nagar under the Railway bridge, looking towards Pavan School...

Looking down Jaynagar Main road beside the Shivgiri children's park...

Jaynagar 1st Cross...
The very old, almost crumbling brick compound wall at Jaynagar 1st Cross. This compound hosted a variety of interesting n' rare plants/ trees...! I remember stopping to peep above the wall and stare for minutes, taking in the beauty of that virtual jungle and trying to identify the flora... The family has moved long since and this once beautiful place place today lies uncared for...

This brilliant Gulmohar is at the entrance to Kumareshwar Nagar, (A sub-nagar of Bharati Nagar) off Halyal road...

I had to sneak in one of these... Looks so brilliant in the morning sun!

Looking on to Halyal road...

At the entrance to Bharati Nagar...

Looking through bunches of pretty red Gulmohar at the Govt. Primary School, on Halyal road between Bharati Nagar/Saptapur...

Looking at the grand old Dasankop Bungalow from the circle that goes by the same name...

Looking down the lovely Narayanpur main road...

Afeter 'Gulmohar Avenue' at the University, this is the next lane that is more than worthy of receiving this title... So, 'Gulmohar Avenue-2', it's gonna be ! In fact, this stretch of road is the longest one in Dharwad with bright and beautiful Gulmohars all along ! Some of them almost hundred years old...!

This is indeed one blazing stretch of road, I'd love to walk again and again and again, and still have something new and lovely to discover...

The huge Banyan trees on this lane are more than hundred years old and most of the beautiful Gulmohars here are fast catching up...

One of the golden oldies, putting up a brilliant show on 'Gulmohar Avenue- 2'

Who framed the TV Tower...?

A stunning slice of "Time standing still" at Narayanpur, right beside some new-fangled construction on the other side of the street...

Looking along the compound wall of the District and Sessions Judge's old colonial bungalow

'Gulmohar Avenue- 2'/Narayanpur series...

'Gulmohar Avenue- 2'/Narayanpur series...

One of the lovely trees outside the Judges bungalow...

The Gulmohar peeping into the compound of the District & Sessions Judge's residence. A beautiful, well-maintained colonial bungalow...

Looking back, down the utterly beautiful 'Gulmohar Avenue- 2' towards Narayanpur...

The colourful entrance to the Police Headquarters...

The Govt. Press on Kelgeri road, that sports some spectacular Gulmohars...
This was another place that I found difficult to leave...

Ah! What a lovely frame this made...! As though it was all set and just waiting for someone to come and capture it...

One last shot before I head out...
The people here at the press were pretty interested in my work and listened patiently to my explanation of the blazing beauties of Dharwad and the other local treasures that we need to be more sensitive to...

I'm sure from tomorrow they're not gonna step inside/outside the press without giving at least a glance towards these stunners, and maybe even smile each time...

And then, Bendre's very own Sadhankeri lake

At the Children's park, Jaynagar 1st Cross...

Glowing in the morning light...
