As a kid, I have always been fascinated by these magical sequins dancing in the background in photographs, and wondered how photographers
managed to get that!
Much later, when I had a brush with photography as an art student, I understood the technique behind that ethereal magic and discovered that it has a name- Bokeh!. A few years back when I was seriously bitten by the shutter bug and picked up my Sony Cyber Shot, I yearned to get some of those dancing sequins in my pictures. I have been on the lookout for opportunities and that suitable lighting all along...
I have had my eye on the African Tulip tree that's right in front of my balcony. The light filtering through the thick foliage formed some interesting bokeh on my balcony wall of which I've shot a few frames. Since then my sights have been set on capturing some of those magical silver sequins produced by the beautiful collaboration of the bright morning light and the lovely African Tulip...
This morning, I said to myself, "Moushi, you have to do it! No waiting for another morning...!" And yes! I now have a fist-full of those wispy silver sequins all for myself! And I'm as happy as a kid who's gotten that lollipop that he'd been
drooling for since days...
